Holding Explore Lab Workshop
Exploring Space through Performance
In the course of Explore Lab, five students including me would like to encourage people to break focus and explore the closely related aspects of performance, hoping to inspire alternate design methods and outcomes. We hold a two-part workshop hoping to introduce performance to architectural student attendees, with a particular focus toward contemporary dance. As part of this experience we wanted those involved in the workshop to occupy three of the different roles that exist within performance: audience, creator, and performer. Ultimately our approach was that by acquiring these roles the students would gain a greater understanding of performance; and that this understanding may positively influence their perception of space and design methodology.
